Employer:   Wal-mart, Caldwell

Job Function:   Customer Service Manager, Cashier and Sales Associate.

Job Duties: My position at the store began as a Sales associate.  Within a few months, I was promoted to cashier, and a few short months later, I was promoted again to become a part of the front end management team.  As a Customer Service Manger,  I worked with excellence provide quality customer services to Wal-mart’s customers through attention to detail while adhering to company, state, and federal regulations for transactions, returns, safety, and customer satisfaction (while ensuring that those I supervised did the same).  I approved and declined transactions, planned ahead to ensure adequate coverage had been scheduled, and followed up, to make sure that requests were followed through.  A chief concern among my many responsibilities was money handling.   While keeping a ledger for the podium drawer and another for loans that were borrowed from the cash office, (for money center and registers) I, along with upper management kept track of monies. I performed multiple audits per day on registers to check on associate detail. I also worked with Asset Protection to monitor cashiers that were suspected of theft.  I received armored monies into the cash office.  Ensuring that registers had an adequate supply of cash, and stamps and gift cards was another duty. I trained cashiers, money center associates in all front end tasks including cashiering, check cashing, money card transaction, bill payments, WIC program, food stamps, alcohol and tobacco laws and regulations.   I supervised about 35 associates on a daily basis who were responsible for registers, greeting customers, courtesy clerks, maintenance, money center, and providing quality customer service.  One occasion in my supervisor’s absence, I scheduled all 100 associates that work on the front end of the store for a two week period using the computer program and the associates’ availability schedules.  Multitasking and thinking on one’s feet was crucial to effective execution of duties and direction of store personnel.
